Millsap slams Hawks for losing 'to one of the worst defenses in the league'
The Atlanta Hawks may sit second in the East with a 9-4 record, but that didn't stop Paul Millsap from calling out his team for their poor performance on Sunday afternoon.
The Hawks put together arguably their worst game of the season at Madison Square Garden, losing by double-digits to the lowly New York Knicks.
"Against one of the worst defenses in the league and we come out and do that," Millsap told Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
While harsh, Millsap certainly has a point, as the Hawks managed just 94 points against a New York Knicks defense that entered Sunday with a 108.8 rating.
Dennis Schroder had a particularity poor showing, netting just a single point, while missing all eight of his field goals.
Although it wasn't the effort Millsap and Co. were looking for, the Hawks will have the opportunity to bounce back on Tuesday when they face the New Orleans Pelicans at Phillips Arena.
