Jazz's Alec Burks: Could return in a month or two
Coach Quin Snyder said last week that he's hopeful Burks (ankle) will be return to action in about one-to-two months, Jody Genessy of Deseret News reports.
Analysis:
Burks, who underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left ankle on Nov. 1, is officially listed as out indefinitely, but Snyder's estimation at least provides something of a target date for the combo guard. Given that Burks has required three different lower-body procedures in less than a calendar year, it's likely that the far end of Snyder's timetable represents a best-case scenario for the 25-year-old's return, but even that may be ambitious. Once he's finally cleared to play again, Burks will likely face significant restrictions and may not even be a major part of the rotation with George Hill, Rodney Hood, Dante Exum, Joe Johnson and Shelvin Mack all representing quality options in the backcourt.
