It feels like a matter of time until Israeli sharpshooter Omri Casspi and the Sacramento Kings go their separate ways.
The organization has reportedly granted the 28-year-old's representatives, including agent Dan Fegan, permission to look for potential trade partners, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.
The writing has been on the wall for a while that Casspi wouldn't survive the year under new head coach Dave Joerger, who he hasn't even spoken to since the preseason.
After having a career year with George Karl in 2015-16 (11.8 points and 5.9 rebounds on 48.1 percent shooting), Casspi can't crack Joerger's rotation. The string of DNP-CDs to his name reportedly led him to meet with management to discuss his role and immediate future.
He'll hit unrestricted free agency next summer, so it would be in the Kings' best interest to try to receive some sort of compensation for him before he walks. The Kings have the same dilemma with forward Rudy Gay, who's already informed the franchise that he will use his 2017 player option and not negotiate a new contract.
Putting into perspective just how much Casspi's stock has fallen, Matt Barnes - shooting just 39.1 percent from the field in 16 games - has totaled 417 minutes of action, while Casspi has just 120 over seven games.
His 4.8 points per game represent his lowest scoring output since the 2012-13 season, when he suited up for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
