Celtics safe following bomb threat on flight to OKC
The Boston Celtics are safe following a bomb scare on their flight to Oklahoma City, according to Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald.
The team was traveling from Bedford, Mass., to OKC when a threat was called in, and only some passengers were informed, team spokesman Jeff Twiss told Bulpett.
Boston's chartered plane didn't make an emergency landing, though, reaching the ground under normal protocol. Passengers were asked to leave their personal belongings on the airplane, and retrieved their baggage after it - along with the aircraft - was inspected and cleared.
After investigators determined there was no threat, the club checked into its hotel.
"All is fine," Twiss assured, as quoted by Chris Forsberg of ESPN.
The Celtics will face the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday at 7 p.m. ET at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
