Pistons' Stanley Johnson: Swipes career-high five steals in Sunday's loss

Rotowire9 years ago

Johnson provided six points (2-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five steals, four assists, two rebounds, and one block across 26 minutes during the Pistons' 97-79 loss to the 76ers on Sunday.

Analysis:

Johnson stepped up in the absence of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (knee contusion), and the sophomore forward's career-high five steals helped lead a late comeback run, albeit one that was ultimately cut short. Given that Johnson has been spending some time in the D-League and that this was just the fourth time all season that he has seen 20 minutes or more, it's probably safe to leave him on the waiver wire. Moreover, since the Pistons have off until Wednesday, Caldwell-Pope could have ample time to heal and rejoin the lineup.
