Now we know why Philadelphia 76ers icon and Hall of Famer Allen Iverson never bulked up during his 14-year playing career.
It was Allen Iverson Hall of Fame Night at the Wells Fargo Center on Friday when the Sixers played host to the Los Angeles Lakers. Speaking to reporters prior to tipoff, "The Answer" discussed his conditioning, and how he never lifted weights when he was an active competitor.
"That shit was too heavy," he said, according to Philly Magazine's Derek Bodner.
Iverson wound up being quite the talent despite never hitting the barbells and dumbbells, relying on his trademark tenacity and never-say-die attitude to carry him to legendary status.
Practice, weights - who needs them?
