Covington departed Thursday's practice early due to lower-back contusion, leaving him questionable to play Friday against the Celtics.

Analysis:

The 76ers don't seem to view Covington's injury as serious, but if he's unable to make it through morning shootaround Friday, the team could opt to keep him out. Covington has routinely served as the 76ers' leader in court time since early December, averaging 13.0 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.3 three-pointers and 1.2 steals in 33.8 minutes per game over his last 11 appearances.
