The Orlando Magic have waived center Arinze Onuaku, the team announced Friday.
The club signed the 6-foot-9 big man to a one-year, partially guaranteed deal this summer, but he struggled to earn minutes competing with Orlando's glut of other frontcourt players.
The 29-year-old played just 28 minutes over eight games for the Magic. He previously suited up for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Cleveland Cavaliers, and New Orleans Pelicans.
The cut comes a day before the deadline to waive players on partially guaranteed deals before they become fully guaranteed, leaving Orlando with 14 players on the roster.
The Magic also recalled guard C.J. Wilcox from their D-League affiliate.
