Knicks' Jennings got Rose's starting spot minutes before game
The New York Knicks were without Derrick Rose on Monday night and not even his teammates saw the point guard's absence coming.
A concerned Brandon Jennings - who was asked to step into Rose's shoes at the last minute - spoke to reporters after the 110-96 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans at home.
"We haven't heard anything, I don't know anything," he said in a video posted by the team. "I found out 40 minutes before the game that I was going to start so, I just don't know anything."
Knicks officials couldn't reach Rose before tipoff. He was listed as a starter.
"I think a lot," Jennings said, when asked how the short notice affected the team. "Just the fact that we didn't hear anything and we still don't know anything ... a guy like Derrick, he's such a good guy."
Jennings put up 20 points, five rebounds, and four assists in the contest.
