Report: Nuggets acquire Mo Williams ... again

Mo Williams could soon find himself changing teams for the fifth time this season.

The Denver Nuggets claimed the veteran point guard off waivers Monday, sources told ESPN's Marc Stein.

The team acquired Williams last Wednesday in a trade with the Atlanta Hawks, and immediately waived him. The purpose of the move was to use his $2.2-million contract to bring the Nuggets closer to the salary-cap floor.

Denver is expected to waive the 34-year-old again. Because the club's payroll remains below the minimum $84.7 million, the transaction saves them $1.2 million while the vet's last team, the Philadelphia 76ers, owe $27,000.

Though the former All-Star has yet to play this season after undergoing left knee surgery, his rights have been owned by the Cleveland Cavaliers, Hawks, Nuggets, Sixers, and now the Nuggets again.

Denver's expected to sign Alonzo Gee to another 10-day pact.
