David Griffin: LeBron's comments inappropriate from teammate perspective

LeBron James isn't the only one in the Cavaliers' organization who's unhappy at the moment.

General manager David Griffin called out his star player for his recent comments about the direction of the franchise, saying LeBron was wrong to call out his teammates for their lackluster play.

"It certainly wasn't appropriate from a teammate perspective," Griffin told Joe Vardon of cleveland.com.

While LeBron said he had "no problems" with the Cavs' front office, he did take a subtle shot at the franchise, saying he hopes everyone isn't satisfied after winning a title last season.

"The comment about the organization being complacent I think is really misguided," Griffin said. "Organizationally there is absolutely no lack of clarity on what our goal set is. We are here to win championships and there is no other solution, there is no other outcome that is acceptable and there never has been."

Although LeBron may think otherwise, Griffin says the Cavs remain fully committed to winning another championship in 2016-17.

"Anyone insinuating that this organization is about anything other than that would deeply upset me because ownership has invested in this at an absolutely historic level," Griffin said.

While he may not see eye to eye with LeBron, Griffin says he's happy he met with the four-time MVP to discuss their differences.

"I think we both needed ... I'm happy it happened. It was the right thing to do,"
