Larry Sanders announces his return to basketball on Twitter
After a two-year absence, former NBA big man Larry Sanders is ready to make a go of it again as a basketball player.
The 28-year-old announced on his Twitter account Thursday night that he's ready to get back into the sport, hinting that his return may arrive before you know it.
Sanders teased that he was "gettin' that itch" to be back in the NBA on his Instagram account last month, posting a photo of himself blocking a shot - his most noteworthy skill as a professional.
He's still making money from the Milwaukee Bucks to this day, as the franchise bought Sanders out of the remainder of his contract in 2015 following yet another marijuana-related violation of the NBA's anti-drug policy. The stretch provision will give him $1.8-million per year until 2022.
In 233 career appearances over five seasons with the Bucks, Sanders averaged 6.5 points on 48 percent shooting, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.8 rejections.
