Watch: Jeremy Lin teaches Mandarin to tongue-tied Nets
Nick Turchiaro-USA TODAY Sports / Reuters
Jeremy Lin tried to bring the Brooklyn Nets together to wish fans a Happy Chinese New Year ... and it was a disaster.
Lin kept it simple with two phrases that shouldn't be that hard to say: Happy New Year (roughly phonetically pronounced: shin niang kawhi le) and Best Wishes and Good Fortune (gong she fah tsai) but the Nets mostly butchered it.
It's the sentiment that counts.
