Dion Waiters of the Miami Heat and DeMarcus Cousins of the Sacramento Kings have been named NBA Players of the Week in the Eastern and Western Conference, respectively.
While Waiters only ranked 27th in scoring between Jan. 23-29, he beat both the Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets in consecutive contests with game-winning 3-pointers. He shot 48.2 percent over four games, all Heat victories.
Cousins led the Kings to a 3-1 week, averaging 27.8 points, 14.5 rebounds, and six assists. The big man was also reportedly cleared Monday of any wrongdoing in a New York brawl involving teammate Matt Barnes.
