In the aftermath of the bizarre Charles Oakley incident that occurred at Madison Square Garden Wednesday night, the Knicks released a hastily put together statement that was quickly picked apart by critics who wondered whether James Dolan was behind it.
On Thursday, one of the NBA's biggest current stars took issue with the Knicks' statement, particularly with the insinuation that Oakley should "get some help soon."
Hope that he gets some help soon? Not the right way to portray Oak...always had my back and the realest person our league has seen #UncleOak
— Chris Paul (@CP3) February 9, 2017
Paul's tweet comes after LeBron James posted a supportive photo of a young Oakley on his Instagram page, further fueling recent reports that the Knicks may be turning off future free agents.
