KD thanks booing OKC fans: 'Do what you gotta do'

Kevin Durant knows it will be an emotional night for Oklahoma City Thunder fans to see him return to the Chesapeake Energy Arena for the first time as the opponent.

His former supporters, turned detractors, can do what they like, Durant said before the fateful showdown Saturday.

"Thank you. Do what you gotta to do. I appreciate every second I had here. I wish nothing but the best for the organization and for the city. Thanks for all the great memories but I know what it is," Durant told reporters before tip off.

With a bitter and rude welcome on the horizon, Durant said he will, "plan for the worst."

"I know what fans are about, especially here. Try not to think about it, just go out there and play. Once the ball is tipped just go play the game."

Durant spent eight seasons in OKC, helping the relocated franchise establish itself as one of the league's marquee teams. All that apparently went out the window when Durant exercised his right as an unrestricted free agent to join another team of his choosing.
