Lonzo Ball's father: He's going to be better than Steph Curry
Parents are always their children's biggest supporters, but LaVar Ball, the father of UCLA phenom Lonzo Ball, takes it to a whole other level.
"You can't compare my boy to anyone," the elder Ball told TMZ Sports. "I'm going to tell you this, you say he's like Jason Kidd, but he's taller than Jason Kidd. He jumps better than Jason Kidd. He's longer than Jason Kidd. He's got a better shot than Jason Kidd."
Ball did not stop at the comparison to Kidd, an NBA champion, a 10-time All-Star, and two-time Olympic gold medalist.
"He's going to be better than Steph Curry in the NBA," Ball deadpanned. "... My son is young, he's got time to grow. You only consider (Curry) good because he's won a couple of championships ... he's made some shots at the right time ... but he's not as young as my boy."
Curry has only won one championship thus far, but is one of just 13 players in NBA history to win multiple MVP awards.
"You're not going to be able to say this until my boy has ended his career," Ball continued, "then they're going to look back and say, 'Man, how did Lavar know all of this?'"
