Report: Hawks made 'aggressive' offers for Pacers' George, Bulls' Butler
The Atlanta Hawks attempted to make a giant splash at this year's deadline.
Atlanta made "aggressive" trade offers involving draft picks for both Indiana Pacers small forward Paul George and Chicago Bulls small forward Jimmy Butler, league sources tell ESPN's Marc Stein.
Both players reportedly generated interest from a number of teams, including the Boston Celtics, who continue to look for a star to play next to Isaiah Thomas.
The Hawks still remained one of the most active teams at the deadline, acquiring Ersan Ilyasova from the Philadelphia 76ers and trading Mike Scott to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for cash.
Atlanta appeared headed for a rebuild earlier this season after trading Kyle Korver to the Cleveland Cavaliers, but quickly changed course after going 11-4 in January.
Atlanta (32-24) currently sits fifth in the Eastern Conference, just half a game back of the fourth-seeded Toronto Raptors.
