Watch: Covington redeems stupid foul by forcing OT on last-second shot

Kim Klement / USA TODAY Sports

This game was drunk.

Robert Covington forced overtime between the Philadelphia 76ers and Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday by banking in a clutch putback right before the final buzzer sounded on regulation.

That bucket made up for Covington's boneheaded gaffe when he intentionally fouled C.J. McCollum in a tie game to put the Blazers up two with 25 seconds remaining.

Brett Brown's stunned reaction was priceless.

Covington's gift, coupled with a Sixers turnover on the ensuing play, gave the Blazers a perfect opportunity to seal the win. But Al-Farouq Aminu made a puzzling decision of his own, tossing a hit-ahead pass out of bounds that gave Philadelphia a chance to tie.
