Earlier this weekend, Joel Embiid called fellow Philadelphia 76ers rookie Dario Saric "the real MVP." In reality, he was suggesting that the Croatian deserved to be NBA Rookie of the Year, and he expressed that directly Sunday in Saric's postgame interview after Philly's 118-116 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.
He may have a case. With consensus pick Embiid's season over, Saric has come on of late. He's averaged 17.5 points per game since Feb. 1, capped by a career-high 29 against the Lakers.
