LaVar Ball: 'I would kill Michael Jordan 1-on-1' in my heyday

LaVar Ball, the father of UCLA star Lonzo Ball, has added to his growing list of brash declarations with perhaps his biggest one to date.

"Back in my heyday, I would kill Michael Jordan one-on-one," he told Josh Peter of USA TODAY Sports.

"I would just back (Jordan) in and lift him off the ground and call a foul every time he fouls me when I do a jump hook to the right or the left. He cannot stop me one-on-one. He better make every shot 'cause he can't go around me. He's not fast enough. And he can only make so many shots outside before I make every bucket under the rim."

Ball has made headlines several times this season, often for insisting his eldest son Lonzo is already a better player than two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry.

"Now in a game of five-on-five, (Jordan) might do some damage," Ball added. "But I'm going to do some damage too."

It's unclear what period of time Ball was referring to as his "heyday." He averaged 2.2 points per game for Washington State in 1987-88.
