Cavs' Irving, Shumpert suffer injuries in win over Jazz
The injury bug continues to bite the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Both Kyrie Irving and Iman Shumpert were forced to leave Thursday's contest versus the Utah Jazz after sustaining injuries late in the second half. Irving failed to return after feeling tightness in his left knee, while Shumpert was ruled out with a sprained left shoulder.
Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue said following the contest that neither injury was considered serious, according to Cavaliers sideline reporter Allie Clifton.
Irving has been instrumental to Cleveland's success this season, averaging 25.2 points, 5.9 assists, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.2 steals on 47.1 percent shooting. Shumpert has been a solid contributor, averaging 7.8 points, three rebounds, and 1.5 assists.
The injuries had little effect on the final score against Utah, as Cleveland defeated the Jazz 91-83.
