Rondo flirts with triple-double as Bulls take 2-0 series lead

It's safe to say Rajon Rondo is officially out of Fred Hoiberg's doghouse.

After an up-and-down regular season, the Bulls point guard has come alive in the playoffs, flirting with a triple-double in Chicago's Game 2 victory over the Boston Celtics.

The 31-year-old finished the game with 11 points, nine rebounds, five steals, and 14 dimes - tying a franchise record for assists in a postseason contest. Rondo also joined Michael Jordan as the only Bulls in the last 30 seasons to collect 10 assists and five steals in a playoff game.

With Isaiah Thomas struggling to contain the 11-year veteran, Rondo broke down the Celtics' defense with ease, posting a plus-24 point-differential during his 40 minutes.

It marks the second straight all-around performance for Rondo, who filled the stat sheet in the Bulls' Game 1 victory Sunday. With Rondo playing at an elite level, the Bulls have taken a commanding lead over the No. 1-seeded Celtics with their next two contests taking place at home.
