David Fizdale might as well start writing a cheque to the NBA now.
The Memphis Grizzlies head coach opened his postgame media conference cool and collected after his team's Game 2 loss to the San Antonio Spurs, seemingly wanting nothing more than to pore over game film with a glass of wine. Then he started talking about how the game was officiated, and things quickly went off the rails.
Of most concern to Fizdale, Mike Conley (five) and Zach Randolph (zero) combined for just five free-throw attempts, the Grizzlies as a team got to the line only 15 times, while Kawhi Leonard, alone, paraded to the charity stripe 19 times.
"Take that for data!"
