Five-star forward Shareef O'Neal, the son of Hall of Fame center Shaquille O'Neal, has committed to Arizona as a member of the 2018 recruiting class, his AAU team announced Wednesday.
The choice comes as a surprise, after Shaq declared last summer he wanted his son to play at Kentucky, Michigan State, or LSU, his alma mater.

Shareef O'Neal is No. 19 overall on the preliminary ESPN prospect rankings for 2018. He's listed at 6-foot-8 and 206 pounds, which is a very different build from the one his father was - and still is - famous for.
