Houston Rockets guard Patrick Beverley is playing Game 4 against the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday with the heaviest of hearts.
Beverley learned earlier in the day that his grandfather had died.
He was seen in the locker room prior to tipoff sobbing uncontrollably after learning of the news, according to The Vertical's Michael Lee.
Beverley then held back tears as he opened Game 4 at Toyota Center by scoring the first points of the night, before pointing to the sky as a tribute to his grandfather.
