Report: Harden sued for alleged involvement in attack on Malone Jr.
Moses Malone Jr. is suing the Houston Rockets star James Harden for masterminding a plan to assault and rob him, Fox 26 Houston's Isiah Carey reports.
According to the lawsuit filed Monday by the son of the Hall of Famer, Harden paid a group of people $20,000 to ambush and rob Malone at a Houston strip club last June.
The documents suggest it was an act of retribution, as Malone previously took to Facebook to criticize Harden for charging kids $250 to attend his basketball camp.
Four men have already been criminally charged in connection with the assault, per Fox 26. According to the warrants, one of them told Malone during the fracas he deserved to be punished for disrespecting the MVP contender.
Harden's attorney, Rusty Hardin, said in a statement he's "totally comfortable that the allegations are untrue," adding:
"I am afraid this is just another example of people shopping for a deep pocket when they find that the people actually responsible have no money."
Malone is also suing the establishment, V-Live, for $1 million in damages.
