76ers' Embiid: 'I think we really need a point guard'
If Joel Embiid has one thing on his offseason wish list, it's a new point guard.
With his Sixers already loaded with talent up front, the Cameroonian big man expects Philadelphia to improve its backcourt this summer, and hopes they start by using this year's lottery selection on a new point man.
"I think we really need a point guard. I know the team has been talking about Ben (Simmons) being a point guard, and I'm excited to try that," Embiid said on "SportsCenter." "I'm excited to see how that's going to go. At the same time, I think we really need a point guard, and in this draft there's going to be a lot of point guards available and hopefully we get the No. 1 pick and we get to choose one of them."
Should the Sixers fail to land their point guard of the future in the draft, they could opt to go the free-agent route, as All-Star Kyle Lowry reportedly has interest in signing with his hometown team this summer.
