Cavs' Lue: LeBron is human, he's going to have a night like this
Tyronn Lue isn't going to lose sleep over an off night from his star player.
The Cleveland Cavaliers head coach jumped to LeBron James' defense following Sunday's stunning loss to the Boston Celtics, saying he had no issues with the four-time MVP's relatively poor performance in Game 3.
"He’s human, so he’s going to have a night like this," Lue told Celtics reporter Marc D'Amico following the contest.
After dominating throughout the first 10 games of the postseason, LeBron struggled to develop any sort of offensive rhythm Sunday, finishing with 11 points on 4-of-13 shooting, six assists, and six rebounds in 45 minutes. After collecting eight points over the opening two quarters, LeBron was ice-cold in the second half, finishing with no points on 0-of-4 shooting, two turnovers, a rebound, and an assist over the final 16-and-a-half minutes of the game.
LeBron and Co. will look to bounce back in Tuesday's Game 4 at Quicken Loans Arena.
