Jefferson: LeBron's playoff scoring record will be unbreakable
LeBron James surged past Michael Jordan to become the all-time leader in playoff scoring on Thursday, a record that stood for two decades.
The King won't be vacating the throne anytime soon. Cleveland Cavaliers forward Richard Jefferson argued that James' playoff scoring record will become one of the great unbreakable records in all of professional sports when it's all said and done.
"His record when he's done will be unbreakable," Jefferson said. "And I want to put this out there. The Joe DiMaggio hit streak, Wilt Chamberlain scoring 100, there are certain records who will be unbreakable. Whoever tries will have to play in 10 NBA Finals, and average 30 points a game to get there. Let's put that into perspective - that's impossible."
"What he's doing right now is obviously on a level that has never been seen before. To pass Michael Jordan when you're still in the prime of your career, pass the greats of all time, that record will be unbreakable."
Jefferson's argument comes down to longevity. James has proven to be indestructible over his 14-year career, his teams always reach the playoffs, and they always make a deep title run. James will make his eighth Finals appearance in a week's time, which is more than Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Tim Duncan each did in their entire careers.
"If he adds another 1,000 points, who's going to be able to come into 10 NBA Finals, in this modern age, in this modern day, just to have an opportunity to do that? Go to the playoffs every year, to average 30. Just the longevity to do that, the durability to do that."

"I won't live to see that record broken," Jefferson added.
