Kings select De'Aaron Fox with No. 5 pick
With the No. 5 pick in Thursday's NBA Draft, the Sacramento Kings selected Kentucky guard De'Aaron Fox.
Another one-and-done superstar under Kentucky coach John Calipari, Fox stands 6-foot-3 with a 6-foot-6 wingspan. He possesses tremendous quickness and dribble-drive ability, but his 185-pound wiry frame is something Sacramento will look to build upon.
Through 36 games at Kentucky, Fox averaged 16.7 points, 4.6 assists, and 3.9 rebounds on 47.8 percent shooting. He'll need to improve his 3-point shooting if he wants to fit in today's NBA, however. The 19-year-old attempted just 1.9 threes per game, shooting a meager 24.6 percent.
Fox's torching of UCLA and Lonzo Ball for 39 points in the Sweet 16 was his most notable performance of the season and highlighted his scoring ability. Fox didn't hit a single 3-pointer in the outburst, though, despite the lofty point total.
