Report: C.J. Miles to decline player option

Shooters don't come cheap.

Indiana Pacers forward C.J. Miles will decline his $4.8-million player option for 2017-18 and test unrestricted free agency, according to ESPN's Chris Haynes.

The 30-year-old Miles should draw plenty of offers based on his established ability to drill threes and play multiple positions. He is slated for a significant raise over the four-year, $20-million contract he signed in 2014.

Miles proved to be a versatile player in three years with the Pacers. He transitioned seamlessly from the bench to the starting lineup, and toggled between small and power forward as Indiana downsized to play smallball. His defensive abilities didn't stick at the four, but he did stretch the floor and open the lane for drivers.

The lefty gunner averaged 10.7 points and three rebounds on 41.3 percent shooting from deep across 76 appearances this season.
