Report: Suns, Hawks, T-Wolves expected to be interested in Iguodala
Andre Iguodala will have plenty of suitors vying for his services when he becomes an unrestricted free agent July 1.
The Golden State Warriors forward and former NBA Finals MVP is expected to receive a ton of interest from several teams, including the Phoenix Suns, Atlanta Hawks, and Minnesota Timberwolves, according to ESPN's Chris Haynes and Ramona Shelburne.
In his fourth season with the Warriors, the 33-year-old veteran still holds a great deal of value as a versatile wing defender and outside shooter, albeit with scoring numbers that won't necessarily blow you away (averaged 7.6 points in 2016-17, second-fewest of his career).
His 52.8 shooting percentage from the field this season was his highest since entering the league as the ninth overall pick in 2004, while his 36.2 3-point percentage was his strongest since suiting up for the Philadelphia 76ers in 2011-12.
While he insists he's healthy, Iguodala's knee has been an issue during Golden State's undefeated playoff run, forcing his early exit in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals against the San Antonio Spurs, and costing him all of Game 2. He did return, however, to close out the series on the road, totaling roughly 40 minutes across the final two meetings.
The Warriors could be strapped for cash with reigning back-to-back MVP Stephen Curry eligible for the super-max contract under the new collective bargaining agreement, as well as Kevin Durant and his potential max extension. Durant is reportedly contemplating taking less than the max, though, which could go a long way in helping Golden State retain free agents like Iguodala.
