Report: Draft prospect claims Phil fell asleep during his Knicks workout
As everyone piles on New York Knicks president Phil Jackson for his latest Kristaps Porzingis misstep, broadcaster Jay Williams shared an interesting nugget Thursday.
"A top-15 draft pick told me the other day ... Phil Jackson was falling in and out of sleep during my workout," Williams, a former NBA player-turned-ESPN analyst said on "Outside the Lines."
Williams didn't name the player involved, but the Knicks are currently slated to select eighth in Thursday night's draft.
There is a sense in many quarters of the NBA that the game has passed Jackson by. The 71-year-old has made repeated mistakes with the media, including publicly disclosing Porzingis was a trade candidate.
While clashing with franchise player Carmelo Anthony all season, Jackson also committed a faux pas by referring to LeBron James' business associates as his "posse." James objected to the characterization due to its racial connotations.
