Report: Aldridge's frustration with Spurs fueling trade talks
LaMarcus Aldridge could be trying to force his way out of San Antonio.
The power forward's unhappiness with the Spurs is the reason they're engaging in trade talks, a source told USA TODAY Sports' Sam Amick.
San Antonio is reportedly discussing trade scenarios with several teams in hopes of receiving a high first-round pick in Thursday's draft in return for the big man, whom they signed two years ago in free agency.
His decision in 2015 reportedly came down to the Phoenix Suns and Spurs, and he chose the latter because he thought he'd be a good fit within Gregg Popovich's system.
However, the past two seasons in San Antonio have seen the 31-year-old defer to superstar Kawhi Leonard, and his numbers have gone down in nearly every category since his time with the Portland Trail Blazers.
Team | G | MIN | REB | AST | PTS |

SAS | 146 | 31.5 | 7.9 | 1.7 | 17.6 |
It's believed Aldridge wants to latch on with a team that will allow him to have a larger role offensively.
The five-time All-Star is guaranteed $21.4 million next season, and has a $22.3 million player option for 2018-19. Though Phoenix has the No. 4 pick in the draft, Amick's source indicated there's "nothing there" in terms of traction of Aldridge heading to the Valley of the Sun via trade.
