Report: Celtics refused to deal No. 3 pick or 2018 Nets pick for Butler

The Boston Celtics apparently weren't willing to budge in their trade discussions with the Chicago Bulls.

The Celtics were in talks with the Bulls regarding a potential Jimmy Butler deal, but were unwilling to surrender either the No. 3 pick in Thursday's draft or Brooklyn's 2018 first-rounder (which Boston owns), sources told K.C. Johnson of The Chicago Tribune.

Butler and the No. 16 pick were reportedly traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves during Thursday's draft in exchange for Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn, and the No. 7 pick.

Boston opted to select former Duke standout Jayson Tatum with the No. 3 selection.

The Celtics also quickly turned their attention to acquiring Paul George, and are reportedly in serious trade talks with the Indiana Pacers.
