NBA players outraged by Avery Bradley's All-Defensive snub
The 2016-17 All-Defensive teams were announced Monday, and as with any award, observers were quick to point out deserving players who were left off the list.
Boston Celtics shooting guard Avery Bradley was perhaps the most glaring omission from both the first and second teams, which were determined by media voting.
After being named to the All-Defensive second team in 2012-13 and the first team last year, Bradley set a goal to win Defensive Player of the Year. But, despite his pesky perimeter D and contributions to the league's 12th-ranked defense, the 26-year-old wasn't named as a finalist for that accolade, nor did he earn an All-Defensive nod.
Many NBA players, who've played with and against Bradley, took to Twitter to express condemnation of the snub.
His teammate Isaiah Thomas was especially livid, having previously called Bradley "the best on-the-ball defender in the NBA - hands down."
Damn Avery, Smart or Jae didn't get all defense??? That's a JOKE!!!
