Charlotte Hornets fans will have to wait a little while longer before being able to see the team's top pick from the 2017 NBA Draft take the floor.
Guard Malik Monk is doubtful to participate in the Mountain Dew Orlando Summer League as a result of a sprained ankle he suffered during his pre-draft workouts, the Hornets announced Tuesday.
His recovery time is listed at two-to-four weeks, with Monk expected to take part in training camp prior to the start of the 2017-18 campaign.
Monk was selected with the No. 11 pick after his lone season with the Kentucky Wildcats, where he averaged 19.8 points on 45 percent shooting en route to being named both SEC Player and Freshman of the Year.
