Report: Rockets searching for 3rd star to pair with Harden, Paul
The Houston Rockets now have two of the league's premiere guards in their backcourt after acquiring Chris Paul from the Los Angeles Clippers, but their work isn't done yet.
General manager Daryl Morey is reportedly still set on landing a third star so the Rockets will have a greater chance of competing with the reigning champion Golden State Warriors, a source told ESPN's Jeff Goodman.
The apple of Houston's eye now appears to be Indiana Pacers swingman Paul George, who was being linked to the Rockets prior to the Paul trade with Los Angeles.
"They think they are getting Carmelo (Anthony) or George," a source with the Rockets told ESPN's Tim MacMahon.
While a slew of assets were given up to snag CP3 in the form of Sam Dekker, Lou Williams, Patrick Beverley, and a protected first-round pick, Houston still possesses other movable pieces like Sixth Man of the Year Eric Gordon, and young talent like Swiss center Clint Capela.
Morey said earlier in the month that he and the team needs to "get even more aggressive" in terms of bolstering its roster in order to challenge the powerhouse Warriors.
