Report: Warriors, Thunder, Pelicans interested in Nick Young
Three Western Conference teams expressed interest in free-agent shooting guard Nick Young at the beginning of free agency.
Young fielded calls from the Golden State Warriors, Oklahoma City Thunder, and the New Orleans Pelicans last night, sources told Mark Medina of Los Angeles Daily News.
The 32-year-old spent the last four seasons as a bench gunner with the Los Angeles Lakers. Young proved to be mostly erratic during his time with the Lakers, but he did piece together a strong 2016-17 campaign, with averages of 13.2 points and 2.3 rebounds last season on 40.4 percent shooting from deep.
All three teams linked to Young could use an additional shooter, but it comes down to a matter of price. The Warriors are probably the most attractive destination, but they can hardly afford to offer anything more than the minimum. OKC and New Orleans are also over the cap, but they could conceivably grant Young something close to the mid-level exception.
