Report: Vince Carter will meet with Kings on Monday

Vince Carter could end his career in Sacramento.

The unrestricted free agent will meet with the Kings on Monday, league sources told ESPN's Chris Haynes.

Carter, 40, has said he plans to play two more seasons before hanging up his sneakers for good.

The veteran guard, who's earned more than $173 million in salary over his 19-year career, recently indicated he's open to taking a pay cut to join a team like the Golden State Warriors.

"I'm open for it," he said on ESPN's "The Jump."

"I want to win. I want to play. Somewhat what Kevin Durant did, I want to do for my team. I want to go out there and play and provide and show that I can still play this game."

Should he sign with the Kings, he likely won't have to give them much of a discount - Sacramento has more cap space available than any other team - but he also won't experience much winning. However, he figures to get plenty of burn and opportunities to prove he's still got it.

Given the uncertain status of free agents Zach Randolph, Tony Allen, and starting power forward JaMychal Green, Memphis could let Carter walk.

The eight-time All-Star spent the last three seasons with the Grizzlies, and put up his best numbers with them in 2016-17, averaging eight points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 24.6 minutes per game.
