The Boston Celtics will renounce the rights to center Kelly Olynyk, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The move would be made to release the cap hold on the Canadian, freeing up space to sign Gordon Hayward.
As a result of his qualifying offer being pulled, Olynyk would become an unrestricted free agent. The Atlanta Hawks and Indiana Pacers already have interest in his services, according to USA Today's Sam Amick.
Hayward announced Tuesday he was signing with Boston.
Olynyk has been a polarizing player in his four-year Celtics tenure. While averaging 9.5 points in 278 games on near-37 percent 3-point shooting, the 7-footer has often been accused of dirty play.
