Isaiah Thomas wants the 'Brinks truck' for his next contract
Boston Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas held no punches while discussing the financial details of his next contract. With an annual salary of just $6.2 million last season, Thomas is obviously due for a massive pay raise.
In Thomas' opinion, that next deal will be of the max variety.
"I'm a max guy, so I deserve the max," Thomas stated bluntly, per CSNNE. "My time is coming, they know they gotta bring the Brinks truck out. They know that."
At 28 years old and coming off a career year in which he averaged 28.9 points, Thomas certainly has a point in demanding maximum financial compensation.
With Boston's recent acquisition of forward Gordon Hayward, the organization will certainly have to bring out a few Brinks trucks if they want to hold Thomas, Hayward, and Al Horford for the foreseeable future.
