Taj Gibson was arrested early Thursday morning in Queens, New York after being caught driving with a suspended license, according to the New York City Police Department.
The 32-year-old was pulled over after making an illegal U-turn in his Mercedes-Benz, and it was soon discovered through a computer check that his Illinois-issued license had been suspended.
He was later released from police custody after being charged with misdemeanor aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and is due in court on Sept. 1.
Gibson just recently agreed to a two-year, $28-million contract after spending last season with both the Chicago Bulls and Oklahoma City Thunder.
