The Toronto Raptors plan to waive center Justin Hamilton after officially acquiring him from the Brooklyn Nets, league sources tell ESPN's Brian Windhorst.

Hamilton was reportedly dealt to Toronto on Sunday in exchange for DeMarre Carroll and two future draft picks.

The 27-year-old's salary will be stretched out over three seasons, costing the Raptors $1 million annually. Toronto is roughly $2.5 million below the luxury-tax line as a result of the move, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks.

The former second-rounder averaged 6.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 0.7 blocks on 45.9 percent shooting for the Nets this past season.

While a solid contributor, Hamilton would've struggled to find minutes on a roster consisting of centers Jonas Valanciunas, Jakob Poeltl, and Lucas Nogueira.
