Warriors win Best Team at ESPYS
The Golden State Warriors are simply the best, better than all the rest.
Golden State claimed the Best Team award at the ESPYS on Wednesday night.
The Warriors were virtually unstoppable after signing prized free agent Kevin Durant last summer. Led by four All-Stars - and two recent league MVPs - Golden State dominated yearlong at both ends of the court.
The superteam finished with the best record in the regular season and steamrolled through the postseason, dropping only one playoff game en route to capturing their second championship in three years.
Durant, who also took home the Best Championship Performance award, was on hand to accept the team-based accolade with teammates Stephen Curry and Zaza Pachulia.
Steve Kerr's men beat out the Chicago Cubs, Clemson Tigers, Pittsburgh Penguins, New England Patriots, South Carolina's women’s basketball team, and the U.S. women's gymnastics squad for the distinction.
Though other clubs around the league have been making moves to try to keep up with the Dubs, it doesn't look like they'll slow down anytime soon. They re-signed Curry, KD, and other key players this offseason while further bolstering the roster with the additions of Nick Young and rookie Jordan Bell.
They're ahead of the pack - light-years ahead.
