Report: Thunder, Collison agree to 1-year deal
Oklahoma City Thunder is reportedly re-signing center Nick Collison to a one-year contract, expected to be his final season, sources told The Vertical's Shams Charania.
Collison was selected out of Kansas by the Seattle Supersonics with the No. 12 pick in the 2003 draft, but missed his entire rookie season with shoulder injuries.
Since his debut in the 2004-05 season, Collison has played all 895 of his NBA games for the organization, following the team when they moved from the Pacific northwest to Oklahoma City in 2008.
While he's averaged just six points and 5.2 rebounds per game in his 14-year career, Collison has been the organization's connective tissue. The 36-year-old bridged the gap between the final days of the Ray Allen-Rashard Lewis era in Seattle, through the ascendance of Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden, to this upcoming season's promising pairing of Westbrook and recently acquired Paul George.
