Report: Clippers interested in bringing back Speights, Mbah a Moute
The Los Angeles Clippers roster has undergone a notable reconfiguration this offseason. The starting backcourt of Chris Paul and J.J. Redick is no more, and the acquisition of forward Danilo Gallinari makes for an imposing trio alongside Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan.
But that looks to be enough change for one offseason.
Though less impactful than Griffin and Jordan, L.A.'s front office is reportedly interested in bringing back forwards Marreese Speights and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, sources told Brad Turner of the L.A. Times.
Mbah a Moute has spent the past two years with the Clippers, starting 137 of 155 games. Speights, on the other hand, joined L.A.'s long-established rotation on a two-year deal last season. Both players chose to opt out of their respective contracts this offseason.
Neither player would be a massive loss for the organization, but with a new era set to begin for Clipper basketball, the two veterans would provide some cohesion as the Clippers move in a new direction.
