Report: Cavs believe Irving trade is 'almost inevitable'
Kyrie Irving's days in Northeast Ohio could be numbered.
The Cleveland Cavaliers believe there is little chance of salvaging their relationship with the All-Star point guard after he requested a trade earlier this offseason, several sources tell ESPN's Zach Lowe. Cleveland is confident it can receive a "king's ransom" for Irving, and presume a trade is "almost inevitable."
The Cavaliers are seeking multiple assets for Irving, but their No. 1 priority is acquiring an established young player, according to Lowe.
The 25-year-old is reportedly tired of playing second fiddle to LeBron James, as he believes The King's tendency to dominate the ball has left him underutilized. Irving is also presumed to be envious of the special treatment James often receives, as several of the four-time MVP's associates are permitted to travel with the team.
Irving reportedly has interest in playing for the Miami Heat, New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves, and San Antonio Spurs, with the last one his preferred destination.
