Darrell Arthur: Nuggets can be 'right up there' with Warriors

Darrell Arthur has very high expectations for the Denver Nuggets.

After narrowly missing out on a playoff spot last season, the eight-year veteran believes the Nuggets will not only reach the postseason in 2017-18, but also make a run at a championship.

"We can be a contender for sure, right up there with Golden State," Arthur said Tuesday, according to Harrison Wind of BSNDenver.com.

Denver may have recently added a four-time All-Star in Paul Millsap to one of the league's most talented young squads, but the club's failed to make the playoffs since 2013, and is coming off a subpar 40-42 season. The Warriors, meanwhile, just concluded arguably the greatest playoff run ever, going 16-1 en route to their second title in three seasons.

If the Nuggets are going to get anywhere next season, they'll need to find a way to stay healthy, as many of the team's key players, including Arthur, were forced to miss significant time during last year's campaign.
